Coming Soon | Windows, macOS, Linux

We're building a 3D editor
for the future.

Voxet is a Rust-native 3D voxel creation tool with GPU-driven rendering, 32 non-destructive layers, built-in remote collaboration, and more. It's not ready yet, but it's getting close. Try it for free soon!

This is what it looks like so far

No concept renders. No mockups. This is Voxet running on real hardware, mid-development.

Existing voxel editors are fine.
We wanted better.

We're not here to trash the competition — they each did something right. But none of them solved the full problem. We wanted a voxel editor that could handle massive worlds, run on GPU compute, support non-destructive layer editing, and let teams collaborate in real time.

That editor didn't exist. So we built it from scratch, in Rust, with a GPU-first rendering architecture. No compromises on performance, no locked ecosystems, no artificial feature limitations.

MagicaVoxel

Beautiful GPU path-traced renders, but only 8 layers, no glTF export, no Linux support, and a single-model workflow. Great for small art pieces - not for production pipelines.

VoxEdit

16 layers and decent rigging, but locked into The Sandbox ecosystem. Animations can't even be exported to standard formats. Your art, their platform, their rules.

Goxel

Open source and honest, but an OpenGL pipeline that struggles with large scenes. Minimal animation support and no multiplayer. Runs on mobile though, credit where it's due.

Voxet

32 layers, GPU compute rendering, multiplayer networking, cross-platform, and almost entirely free. Built in Rust because we take performance seriously.

Every tool you'd expect.
Some you wouldn't.

Hover around, each tool has a real-time ghost preview before you commit anything. All tools work across Add, Delete, Paint, and Select modes.

Pencil

P

Single-voxel placement with real-time ghost preview. Click once, place once. The most precise tool in Voxet.

Symmetry & Mirroring

X, Y, Z axis mirror symmetry with 90/180/270 degree rotation. Live preview of mirrored edits.

Boolean Operations

Union, subtract, intersect, all material-aware. Box, wand, and lasso selection modes.

Animation Timeline

Up to 1,000 keyframes with 6 easing functions. Loop, ping-pong, and one-shot playback.

32 layers.
Non-destructive editing.

Most voxel editors give you zero layers. Some give you 16 if you're lucky. We give you 32, each with independent visibility, locking, opacity, and color tinting. Sparse storage means layers only use memory for voxels they actually contain.

Visibility — Visible, Hidden, or Ghost (semi-transparent reference)
Locking — Unlocked, Locked, or Paint-Only
Opacity — Continuous 0–100% control per layer
Tinting — Per-layer color tinting for visualization

GPU-Driven Rendering Pipeline

Deferred Rendering

G-buffer architecture handles 100+ dynamic lights with constant per-light cost

GPU Compute Culling

Frustum culling and HZB occlusion run entirely on GPU compute shaders

Greedy Meshing

Coplanar same-material faces merge into larger quads, cutting triangles 60–80%

Multi-Draw Indirect

Thousands of draw calls batched into a single GPU submission

Adaptive Hardware Tiering

Voxet detects your GPU at launch and picks the right settings. You don't have to configure anything.

SVO Ray Marching

Direct sparse voxel octree traversal with DDA empty-space skipping

Marching Cubes

Optional smooth-surface mode for organic terrain rendering

5-Tier LOD

From full-detail models to static billboards, with streaming terrain for 10km+ views

Flood-Fill Lighting

BFS sunlight and point light propagation with ambient occlusion

Cached Shadow Maps

Shadow maps only regenerate when geometry changes, dirty-flag tracked

Shader Cache

Compiled shaders cached to disk with hash-based invalidation

We'll let you compare.

We're not going to pretend the others are bad, they each do something well. They're just limited in ways we didn't want to accept.

Feature MagicaVoxel Voxet
Layers 8 layers with basic visibility/selection 32 with visibility, locking, opacity, tinting
Editing Single model per scene (use World Mode for groups) Tabbed multi-project workspace (Pro)
Rendering Unbiased GPU path tracing (offline style) Real-time GPU deferred + compute culling
Multiplayer Not available Built-in QUIC networking (Pro)

The free version will have almost everything.

We're not hiding features behind a paywall to trick you into upgrading. The free tier is the full editor. Pro adds workspace management and collaboration tools for teams that actually need them.
